La Taillede is an ancient Catalan farm house in the French Pyrenees, sitting proudly at 1000m altitude.
The property is framed by the sacred Mount Canigou, and has views all the way down to the Mediterranean sea. Operating successfully as a unique and unforgettable holiday destination since 2016, La Taillede offers beautiful ‘rustic luxury’ accommodation for intimate groups of 10-16 people.

Description
La Taillede is a family-run ecological farm located within the high mountains of the Haut Vallespir, only one hours drive from the coast of the Mediterranean. Ideal for smaller groups looking for beautiful accommodation, peace and fresh mountain air in an authentic rural setting.
On the property there are many animals (used for permaculture, land clearing and petting) and an organic vegetable garden.
We can accommodate 17 people; 14 participants maximum, plus 2 retreat leaders and the chef.
A yurt, a large indoor space and plenty of outside locations for practicing your activity.
There are 2 wood-heated hot tubs for your exclusive use -one on the high forest terrace of Gite Carlit, and one on Gite Canigou terrace, various hidden hammock spots in the forest and by the yurt, a choice of outside and inside dining areas plus fire pit for sociable evenings around the fire.
A sauna with cold plunge pool plus a swimming pool with large surrounding terrace for alfresco yoga/other activities.
A river with natural pools; A 30 minute walk.
This region is popular for hiking (the Trans-Pyrenean GR10 hiking route passes close to the farm), and we can suggest many walks to suit the group and provide maps and detailed descriptions. We can also take you along with us for walks with our friendly donkeys.

Location
Framed by Mount Canigou, the beauty of La Taillede is its prominent mountain setting, the incredible views all the way down to the Mediterranean sea, the fresh air and being surrounded only by forest and nature.
We are a 15 minute walk down a rural track from the quaint, traditionally French mountain village of Corsavy. Here there is a cafe/village shop, 2 restaurants and a post office.
Ceret is a beautiful town with lovely cafes and restaurants, a vibrant Saturday market and art museums; 30 minutes by car. The Mediterranean sea is a 1 hour drive away, including Collioure which is a stunning seaside town.
The Spanish border only 30 minutes by car.

Activity Spaces
We have a 30m² yurt with rugs on the floor, a large south facing terrace and a summer kitchen for making teas etc. and facilities. The yurt is usually used for small yoga groups (10 people max), also the welcome circle, meditation, cacao ceremonies and massage. It is heated with a wood burning stove and is well insulated so can be used whatever the weather.

There is also a large indoor area of 41m² (see below) with underfloor heating and wood burning stove. We have had 13 participants practice yoga here, plus the instructor; but the usual number is 12 participants for yoga or pilates.
Yoga mats, blocks, meditation cushions and blankets for shavasana are provided. We also have a few bolsters.
With over 50 hectares of private land, and the large terrace around the pool, there are also options for practising your activity outside.
Accommodation
There are 7 very comfortable guest bedrooms and 6 guest bathrooms, with 4 living rooms all with wood burning stoves.
If all the guest bedrooms have been booked, there is another bedroom which is for retreat leaders only, and one for the chef. One room has 2 single beds, and the other, one double bed. These 2 bedrooms share a bathroom.
Bedroom layout;
Ground floor; 2 x 50m² apartments, (Gite Noisette and Gite Cerise) 1 bedroom each. Beds can be made up as singles or a super king double (with topper for comfort). There is also a sofa bed in Gite Noisette lounge.
1st floor; Gite Canigou 100m²; 1 large ensuite bedroom and 2 bedrooms which share a bathroom. All 3 bedrooms can be singles or super king doubles (with toppers).
2nd floor; Gite Carlit 85m²; 1 double bed with ensuite bathroom & 1 room which can accommodate 3 adults in 3 single beds.

Plus the 2 bedrooms for the retreat leaders and the chef (offered if all other guest accommodation is occupied). 1 double room, 2 twin beds, shared bathroom with shower.

Catering
We usually use Karolina, who is an excellent full time vegan/vegetarian chef. She is Austrian and speaks fluent French, English and Czeck. To find out more about Karolina, you can find her on Instagram here.
If Karolina is not available or if you would prefer another type of cuisine, we can suggest other chefs to suit your needs.
If you prefer to bring your own chef, this is not a problem at all.
