Rewild your child and relax in complete nature

Have you ever heard of rewilding children? It was never a thing when we were growing up, was it? We were outside all the time, getting muddy, climbing trees and exploring the countryside without a care in the world; We were wild enough back then! We all know that too much screen time is bad for our children’s development. Getting them outdoors and immersed in nature has so many benefits; to name a few;

  1. Improved mood, creativity and focus. Studies show that children who have regular connection to nature have *fewer emotional disturbances, exhibit more creativity and build resiliency, physically and mentally. There’s nothing like being in contact with the natural world to develop important life skills.   *The Landscape and Human Health Lab (LHHL)

  2. Lowered Anxiety; Also stress and hyperactive tendencies tend to melt a way and calmness takes it’s place as children relax into the calm of nature.

  3. Better human connections and motivation; Your kids will be mixing with other kids and our family in a relaxed, natural and unforced setting.

  4. Developing their respect for nature and our planet. What more important lesson can we possibly teach the next generation?

At La Taillede, we have more to offer than luxurious accommodation in a beautiful mountain location. La Taillede is the ideal holiday venue for families needing to disconnect from busy modern life. Parents and children will both benefit from this magical, peaceful place.

During the Easter and October half term holidays, we are offering to take your children into nature for part of your holiday so you, the parents, can be together as a couple or take time for yourself. You might like to go for a hike, sit in a hammock with a book or have a soak in the hot tub. You could walk down to the local cafe or even go out for lunch without considering what the kids want to do because they are having a great time!

Meanwhile, the kids will be visiting and petting the animals, learning about animal husbandry, how to plant and grow food ecologically. We can teach the basics of permaculture, foraging, building forest shelters, making bows and arrows etc. The children will be taught to be aware of their own safety outdoors and we will of course take the necessary precautions. Older kids might like to have a tour of the forestry department and be shown how to make something out of wood from a standing tree to a finished product. We can customise activities depending on the age and interests of the children.
